How to Edit Emerald Textures.
Hi, SSBBMAN here, today, we will be making mousse! Oops, wrong channel *click*.
Today I will showing you how to do the relatively easy task of Emerald Texture Hacking! This is extremely easy, and can be done within minutes (2-30).
1. Okay, get a hold on some emerald texture (preferably untouched).
2. To get a texture, try....here.
3. Extract the texture with step1_extract.bat.
4. Notice that the texture looks just like any other texture on your character. From now on, your "character" will be referred to as "Mario".
5. Mario has all of his textures, but what's THIS?
These folders hold the two main files editable!
This tga you have to edit is in the "XXedge" folder, with XX being a number.
This is the main pic that is wrapped around every part (polygon) of a character, and is ALWAYS facing you anywhere on the camera.
This tga is in the "XXedge2" folder. This pic controls the shine, and other effects.
6. Edit the first tga file with GIMP or Photoshop, for sake of example, my Mario.
He is now "Chocolate Mario"...but wait, you have to...
7. "... DON'T MESS WITH THE BORDERS! You should've just left it black, or made it small. NOT colored in all white. It will become a solid color." ~Shadow
8. Done! Well, almost...
what you need to do for uber noobs, is close your art editing software and double-click Step2_create.bat to create your _new.pcs and _new.pac files for your emerald texture.
9. Rename the _new.pXX files to Fit[charactername]XX with XX being the slot number of which Mario Costume your replacing.
10. Test them in-game!
o.O That...is...epic...FAIL!
Don't ask for this, I rushed it.
11. The sphere inside of edge2 is very, very important, so don't try anything crazy with it...unless your experimenting, which I support ;D.
I will appreciate any questions
